Danny Y. Bellevue (DYB) Mentorship Program

Danny was more than an Airman who honorably served Virginia and the US. He was a great guy who genuinely cared about those around him. The kind of guy you just easily connected with and who would stop, listen and be there for you. Danny could brighten a room with his smile or presence. He was very intelligent, strong, and professional. His most impressive abilities, more than his leadership abilities and work ethic, was his ability to relate to and care for everyone he met was unrivaled. He was a true mentor to those around him, giving his advice and his time.

A youth lead, one on one mentoring, where a foster or kinship care youth 13-18 years old with behavioral/mental health struggles is carefully matched with a caring adult mentor in a stable life-long relationship supported by professional DYB program staff members, creating stability for the better forever.

• Be at least 23 years old, and the same gender as the Mentee must be 10 years older.
• Be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Cannot live in the same house as the mentee, be the girlfriend/ boyfriend of the mentee's foster parent/guardian; the employer of the candidate, or his/her relative.
• Capable of being a good role model who leads by example with the types of life skills, work ethic, and attitudes needed to be a productive member of society.

• Between 13-18 years of age
• Foster/ kinship care youth
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Georgia resident
• Educationally at-risk
• Voluntary enrollment
• Underemployed or unemployed
• Drug free
